Ensemble Program
Our renowned Ensemble Program has been enriching the lives of young Victorian musicians for over 50 years.
In the Ensemble Program, you’ll join young musicians from 8 to 25 years of age to rehearse and explore music on Saturdays during school terms. Two symphony orchestras, four string orchestras and three symphonic bands cater to all ages and levels.
With a team of vibrant and energetic conductors and the support of our team of talented educators, you will extend your musical skills playing exciting music and having unforgettable performance experiences.

MYO Winter School
The famous MYO Summer School takes on a mid-year twist as we introduce MYO Winter School – a combination of high standard music-making, creativity, exploration and personal development for brass, woodwind and percussion students.
Between 5 – 10 July, young musicians from across Victoria will come together at MYO’s first Winter School to work with the state’s best conductors and discover a stimulating range of musical and social activities in a fun and collaborative atmosphere. After a year of rehearsals either taking place online or not at all in some cases, Winter School is specially designed for band and jazz musicians to open their minds to new repertoire, rehearsal techniques, and branch into a whole different sphere of music-making and exciting musical experiences.
MYO Summer School
The famous MYO Summer School combines high standard music-making, creativity, exploration and personal development.
Every January, young musicians from across Victoria come together at Summer School to work with the state’s best conductors and discover a stimulating range of musical and social activities in a fun and collaborative atmosphere. Summer School isn’t just about developing technique and expanding your repertoire knowledge. It’s about opening young minds to a whole different sphere of music-making and creating new and exciting musical experiences.
Daily rehearsals in symphony orchestras, string orchestras, symphonic bands, jazz orchestras, and jazz combos cater for all levels and interest. Lunchtime concerts, singing workshops, surprise guests and games create an exciting social atmosphere throughout the week.
The week concludes with concerts for families and friends.
