Just when you thought that things were moving on from “Let it Go”, Elsa, Anna, Olaf and friends are back and BIGGER than ever! The Frozen obsession isn’t going anywhere with the recent release of the equally as popular sequel, Frozen 2.

Millions of girls and boys around the world have fallen in love with the Disney musical movie. We have seen a huge influx in Frozen parties since the release of Frozen 2.  Visit our pinterest board here for lots of great Frozen party themed ideas.

The Outfit

Must we say more? Any Frozen themed birthday starts with the outfit. If your child is asking for a Frozen Birthday Party, no doubt they own an outfit already…it is probably one of those staple clothing items that you need to peel off them to wash. I love seeing all the little Elsa and Anna’s at the shops in their dresses and gumboots even over winter.

If they don’t have an outfit you could surprise them with one for their Birthday….that truly would make their day! David Jones and other department stores have a good range of costumes and Frozen clothing. You make even like to ask your little guests to dress up as their favourite Frozen character.

Colour Scheme and Decorations

Pale Blue/turquoise, rich purples/mauve, white, glitter with splash of orange (olaf) are the key to pulling of this Frozen themed party together. I love the mix of the blues/mauves colour palettes put together.

The pinterest is just bursting with party ideas and inspiration and the range of beautiful products available is endless.

Whether you opt for some DIY decorations in the Frozen colour schemes or store bought Disney decorations, you will have a lot of fun creating a Winter Wonderland.

It is great to sere so many families utilising their Buy Nothing Groups, borrowing decorations from friends or using items that they already have (eg: Snowflake Christmas Decorations). Fabric bunting is also a great alternative to balloons. Not only does it look great, it can be reused and better for the environment.

Lots of the discount stores have party ware, tulle, balloons, paper flowers and pom poms in the ice blue colour scheme which can be dressed up with glitter. Or get creative with the kids and make some DIY snowflakes, or a backdrop with paint and snowflake cookie cutters.

Performers and Party Entertainment

Make your child’s party even more spectacular by hiring an Elsa, Anna, Sven or Olaf performer. Let these highly regarded children’s entertainers pop in for a visit to sing a song or two, play some games with the kids, and make the birthday child and their friends feel fabulous on their special day. They also make for some most amazing photo opportunities.

Frozen Characters

One of our favourite performers we like to use is Glass Slipper Entertainment. They make sure there is plenty of fun, magic and musical entertainment, ensuring memories that will last a lifetime! They provide professional, musically trained characters in high quality costumes, making each child believe that they have been in the presence of the Ice Queen, Ice Princess and Snowlaf. They also offer face painting!

Frozen Themed Disco Parties

Do your children love belting out all their favourite Frozen songs? Keep the kids busy and engaged with a Frozen Themed Disco Party. Frozen songs are so popular that our friends over at Bop till you Drop have a party specifically designed for their little Frozen fans. Parties include set up of PA System and 3 microphones plus Elsa, who will run the disco entertainment for the kids with songs from the movie, graceful dance moves and fun party games tailored around Frozen.

DIY Party Games and Entertainment

Pin the “Carrot on Olaf’, a spin on the old favourite Pin the Tail on the Donkey is a fun party game the kids will enjoy. Places like Office works print poster sized images for as little as $6.

Other popular party games (Frozen themed) are Ice Statues (Musical statues) and musical bubbles, Bubbles are always a hit with young children. Add in some Frozen music and this will keep the kids entertained for quite a while.

Get the kids active with ice cube races (egg and spoon style). Simply freeze blue coloured water and glitter in ice cube trays.

For some messy play, send the kids outside to play with ‘snow’ – shaving cream with a few drops of blue dye and a glitter shaker and made some goop as well. Goop is always really popular and you can download a recipe from here. This is obviously a messy activity so have some warm soapy water and a towel ready.

Frozen Themed Birthday Cakes

What’s a party without a cake? Cake 2 the Rescue are the first place i go to for Birthday Cakes. You will love their easy and convenient DIY Cake Kit and wonder why you haven’t got on board sooner if this is your first cake kit…It really does take the stress out of baking and looks amazing plus everything delivered straight to your door.

Choose from their Ice Princess or Snowflake Princess Elsa inspired DIY Cake Kids. I love the detail on the snowflake princess’s dress and that crown! For Anna fans, they have their popular Autumn Princess DIY Cake Ki with Anna inspired colours. You can even choose from a Snowman or an amazing Ice Castle Birthday Cake. Your little Elsa and Anna fans will be amazed at what you create. They even sell Frozen candles.

The Food

There are so many easy and adorable Frozen themed snacks that the kids will love. Here are a few easy party food ideas (there are also lots of inspiration and ideas on Pinterest!)

It is a great idea to balance out the food with some sandwiches, mini pizzas, quiches, homemade sausage rolls and fruit kebabs with some sweet treats.

The Olaf Marshmellow Snowman and Melted Snowman will be a sure hit or set up a  DIY station with some marshmellows and pretzel sticks, so the kids can make their own little Olafs.

You can check out these other fun themed treats too; Svens Carrots and dip (The kids loved the small ones with the tops still on), Frozen Hearts (Chocolate Dipped Strawberries), Jelly Ice Cubes, Frozen Popcorn and Frozen inspired cupcakes.

For the drinks, jugs of “melted snow” are an easy, sugar free option. I have even seen some parents drop a carrot into the jug (melted Olaf)! It was quite amusing…the kids thought it was hilarious….lots and lots of giggles.

Thank you “snow much” – Party Favours and Thank You Bags

The ideas are endless with the Frozen themed thank you bags. In the aim to reduce unnecessary plastic, why not look for something a little bit more creative than your traditional lolly bags. Add a little thank you note and some snowflakes.

Do you wanna build a snowman kits (This is my favourite). You can download the printables here.
Blue Glitter Play-doh, goop or slime – Save some jars to add the play-doh into and add a little note.
