Wesley Middleton’s Unsorted is a fantastical kids’ show, in which the Clothings are ordered to sort themselves out. In the playful, mixety world of the creatures known as Clothings, the militant Jacket is in charge and thinks everyone should be sorted into distinctly defined groups. The problem is, no one knows where to start. Skirt, Stove-Pipe, Sweater, Slacks and Swimsuit are all friends who want to play together, but if they don’t sort themselves and separate according to Jacket’s rules, they’ll all be banished.
This Australian premiere of Unsorted, directed by Tara Daniel, is wildly energetic and engaging for audiences aged 4-12 and their families. It celebrates individuality, diversity and inclusivity over conformity, and explores and explodes gender stereotypes in clothing!
